Colossians 1:13-18

C3 believes that Jesus is the eternal Son of God. He became man without ceasing to be God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary with the purpose of revealing God and redeeming sinful humanity (Luke 1:35). Jesus never sinned. Through complete obedience to the Father, and His substitutionary death on the Cross, He made provision for the redemption of humanity from sin (Romans 3:24Ephesians 1:7). He was raised from the dead with a glorified body and appeared to many followers for forty days. His resurrection from the dead was proof that God the Father had accepted the sacrifice that Jesus had made on our behalf. He ascended into Heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of the Father where He is our Mediator and is constantly making intercession for the believers (Hebrews 7:251 John 2:1-2). Jesus is the only name in Heaven and on Earth by which mankind can be saved (Acts 4:12). One day, He will return in power and in glory to judge the living and the dead (2 Timothy 4:1) (

In your CG this week, talk about what it means to be saved by Christ Alone. Spend time with this week’s Scriptures below and reflect with the following questions and prompts:

According to this week’s passage, what does the Bible say about Christ Jesus? What do you need to believe about Jesus?
(Compare specifically Luke 2:26 and Luke 2:30.)

Confess to one another how you have not believed that Christ Alone is sufficient for salvation. What have you turned to instead for salvation, or right standing with God? Confess how Christ Alone is enough!

Pray as a group. Pray that you would believe that Christ Alone is enough for salvation. Pray for your unbelieving friends. Pray that they would come to know Jesus through your faithful life and witness.
