Romans 2:1-5

God is kind and patient. He is merciful and gracious. But God is also just. God’s righteous judgement will fall on those who practice unrighteousness, on those who do not repent and believe the gospel. For those who believe the gospel, God justifies, or makes righteous.

In your CG this week, talk about God’s judgement and God’s justification. Spend time with this week’s Scriptures below and reflect with the following questions and prompts. Let the Scriptures burden you for the still objects of God’s judgement and wrath—may you take the gospel to them in response to these passages. And let God’s word also give you security in your justification.

M: Romans 1:28-32 T: Romans 2:1-5 W: Hebrews 10:26-31 TH: Romans 3:23-26

Read Romans 1:28-2:5 as a whole. What do those who practice such things rightly deserve? Since you practice the very same things, what do you deserve?

Look again at Romans 1:28-32. How do you still participate in these things? Confess also Romans 3:23-26. What are truths found in these four verses?

Thank the Father for the gift of justification, grace, and redemption that is in his Son, Christ Jesus. Pray that the Holy Spirit would fill you to take this good news of salvation to sinners. Pray that God would make his appeal through you to be reconciled to himself through Jesus Christ.
