Abraham believed God. Romans 4:21 says that he was “fully convinced that God was able to [make him the father of many nations]” in the face of seemingly impossible odds. When he considered his body (which was as good as dead) and the deadness of Sarah’s womb, “no unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God.” That, Paul says, “is why his faith was counted to him as righteousness.” In the same way, righteousness is counted to us who believe in Jesus, who although died for our sin, was made alive for our justification.
In your CG this week, talk about believing God. Spend time also with this week’s Scriptures below and reflect with the following questions and prompts.
HEAR AND OBEY:
Read Hebrews 11:1. What truth(s) do you need to submit to by faith?
According to Romans 4:23-25, what are we hoping for as the faithful? Like Abraham, are you growing in your faith? Are you fully convinced concerning the gospel?
Pray for children in foster care. Pray that God would place them in households of the faithful that they may be exposed to the gospel.
